This is an announcement to inform you about several Light Tubes (LLT’s) changes for select Luminox models.
Why a change of LLT’s?
Our supplier for the Light Tubes changed their pricing-model. In order to maintain our ex-factory prices stable, we had to change the colors of LLT for some of our watches.
Overview
We would like to highlight the following:
- NOT all models are being affected by the changes, only some select models/series
- Most of the changes are ICE BLUE LLT’s being replaced by GREEN LLT’s
- In some cases, GREEN LLT’s are being replaced by ORANGE LLT’s
- Depending on models, changes may affect LLT’s positioned on the dial and/or the hands and/or the bezel
The performance of GREEN LLT’s and ICE BLUE LLT’s are similar in terms of visibility. As a matter of fact, GREEN LLT’s are even more visible than ICE BLUE LLT’s when measured in “air” environment, and almost as visible when measured in “water” environment.
What does it mean for orders and shipping?
- For the models where a change of LLT is taking place, we are adding the letter “.L” to the reference number.
For example: model XS.3501 will become XS.3501.L. We will use this new reference number for all ordering and on all shipping documents. See attachment list).
- We will make the changes as “running changes”, whenever appropriate per reference. We expect the changes to happen between end of November 2017 and May 2018, depending on models.
- During a certain period, we understand end-consumers might encounter both versions of the same model. Similarly, distributors and retailers might have stock of both versions. We recommend sales staff to be trained accordingly.
- Please be aware that the EAN bar code (ASINS) has changed as well. Please update your documents and data.
What does it mean for marketing and communications?
- For all consumer-facing communications, we will continue referring to our models as per their existing reference number. For example on advertisement, model XS.3501 will remain presented as XS.3501 (and not: XS.3501.L)
- All night-shots will be updated according to the changes and available for download on our data center at early stage in 2018.
- The 2018 Catalogue (available March 2018) will already include all LLT changes. All other communication tools will also be updated accordingly.
- A night-shot overview tool, comparing “current model VS new .L model”, will be provided at early stage in 2018
Wrap up
- To reiterate, these changes of LLT’s do NOT translate into any ex-factory price increase of our watches.
- Similarly, these changes do NOT affect whatsoever the night-visibility performance of our watches.
- Change of LLT’s colors… but of course: ALWAYS VISIBLE
